Lake Regional Pharmacy Announces Wellness Wednesday Programs
OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — New in 2009, Lake Regional Pharmacy will offer Wellness Wednesdays each month at one its three area locations. The sessions are free, and no registration is required.
“This is a great opportunity for patients to talk directly with our pharmacists about their medications or health concerns,” said Stacie Ling, operations specialist with Lake Regional Pharmacy.
The first three Wellness Wednesdays will feature Brown Bag Reviews. They will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Lake Regional Pharmacy in Osage Beach, Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Lake Regional Pharmacy in Camdenton and Wednesday, March 18, at Lake Regional Pharmacy in Lake Ozark.
Patients are encouraged to bring their prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as supplements they are taking, to one of the reviews. Lake Regional’s pharmacists will evaluate the medications for potential drug interactions, more efficient timing for taking medications and cheaper alternatives or more efficient dosing, if appropriate.
Participants will receive a wallet card listing their medications and dosages to carry with them.
“Patients often don’t realize that time of day is important when taking medications,” Ling said. “The Brown Bag Review is a great way to ensure prescriptions and supplements are taken safely and efficiently. We’ll also check for generic options that could save patients money.”
Other programs scheduled throughout the year include blood pressure and blood glucose testing and child medication safety.
