Local SCORE Chapter recognized for contributions to business community
The Lake of the Ozarks Chapter of SCORE was recognized as an outstanding chapter for 2008 at a recent SCORE meeting in Camdenton. Dennis Jones, District Director for SCORE made two presentations to Larry Laminger, Chapter Chair of the local SCORE chapter.
The Lake of the Ozarks SCORE chapter was recognized as the Outstanding Chapter of the Year for District 709 (Kansas City District). The district is made up of SCORE chapters in Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas including Kansas City and Springfield.
The chapter also received the “Three Star” Chapter Performance Award in recognition for achieving outstanding performance for 2008. The award is based on annual performance in 10 criteria. Mr. Jones remarked that “only nine chapters nationally ranked higher in performance than the Lake of the Ozarks SCORE Chapter”. The chapter had over 100 local small business clients in 2008 with over 300 counseling sessions and over 175 cyber-counseling clients with over 500 counseling sessions. Over 230 business people attended a SCORE workshop in 2008. There was significant growth in all of these areas over the previous year.
