Motorcycle crash injures local man
Benton County, Mo. -- A Warsaw man was injured Wednesday in an alleged near collision with a deer.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, James L. West, 57, of Warsaw, Mo., was traveling westbound on Route BB when he reportedly attempted to avoid a deer near the intersection of Valley Road. The motorcycle skidded and slid off the edge of the road.
West suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
An investigation continues into the accident and charges are pending, according the Highway Patrol.
