LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – A 30-foot boat caught fire at 10:09 p.m. last night and later sank at the 32MM.  The operator escaped injury and was taken aboard an emergency responder’s vessel as the Cigarette-style performance boat burned nearly to the waterline, broke in half and sank as fireboats doused the blaze.

The boat sank in 40-feet of water. It is unclear at this time if raising the vessel will be required.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol did not have additional information available Friday morning about the identity of the operator, the make/model of the vessel, or further details surrounding the incident.

This story will be updated when more information becomes available to the public.
