MILLER COUNTY, Mo. – A one-car accident killed a man Monday night on Highway 42. Jarred R. Witt, 23, of Brumley, Mo., was driving a 1999 Ford Mustang eastbound on Highway 42 at 8:53 p.m., Sept. 5, when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway striking a fence and a telephone pole east of Crestwood Road.
Witt was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m. at the scene of the crash.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
One-car crash injures children
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. – Two children were injured in a one-car accident Saturday on Highway 7.
James Ethridge, 42, of Independence, Mo., was reportedly driving a 1998 Saturn southbound at 3:53 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a curb and came to rest in a ditch, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Passengers Jilian R. Kennedy, 5, and Jackson L. Kennedy, 6, both of Wheatland, Mo., were taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Mo.
Two injured in collision on Highway 17
MILLER COUNTY, Mo. -- A pair of motorists from Henley, Mo., suffered moderate injuries Saturday in a three-car accident.
Donald and Mary Robinette were traveling northbound on Highway 17 when a southbound vehicle allegedly crossed the centerline hitting the vehicle in front of them and striking their vehicle just north of Pear Road.
The Robinettes were transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo.
The driver of the vehicle that allegedly crossed the centerline has been identified by the Missouri Highway Patrol as Beth L. Ashworth of Columbia, Mo.
