OSAGE BEACH, Mo. (LakeExpo.com) - Crafters in the lake area get ready. One of the nation's premier fabric stores is coming to Prewitt's Pointe Shopping Center. Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores facility will occupy 15,000 square feet of retail space near the Marshall's location.

"For those who enjoy crafts and sewing, Jo-Ann is a shopping destination without parallel," Prewitt's Pointe project manager Andy Prewitt says. "We think this is going to be an important part of the Lake of the Ozarks shopping experience."

JoAnn representatives responded more conservatively.

"We are looking at opening a store there. As far as when and the details, I'm not going to have that information quite yet," said Joni Fitch, JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores Special Events Specialist. She said more details should become available in July.

The Jo-Ann announcement comes on the heels of Shoe Carnival’s commitment to move to Prewitt's Point this spring. Another national retailer will be taking over 20,000 square feet of Prewitt's Pointe space in coming weeks, Prewitt said.

Jo-Ann provides Americans with creative inspiration in more than 750 stores across the country. The stores offer a wide assortment of merchandise and expertise for people who enjoy expressing themselves through sewing, crafting and home decoration.

Among the stores’ several departments are:

  • Home decor, quilting & apparel fabrics
  • Sewing notions & machines
  • Scrapbooking & papercrafting
  • Kids’ crafts
  • Knitting & other needle arts
  • Jewelry-making supplies
  • Floral stems & arrangements
  • Seasonal & holiday decor
  • Foodcrafting

Prewitt's Pointe is located at the junction of Osage Beach Parkway and Highway 42 in Osage Beach.
