CLIMAX SPRINGS, Mo. — Officials have identified two bodies found in a home Thursday afternoon as those of 57-year-old William J. Goodack Jr. and his wife, 65-year-old Linda K. Goodack.

The Camden County Sheriff's Department reported both individuals had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head, and, based on evidence, investigators believe the deaths are a murder/suicide.

According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, authorities responded to a call at approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday. The calling party reported they had gone to the home in the 1200 block of Sunset Shores Lane to check on the Goodacks, whom they had not heard from since Wednesday, Sept. 25. The caller said when they arrived, they saw what appeared to be a male and female lying in the home, unresponsive to voice calls.

The bodies have been transported to Springfield, Mo. for autopsy—the standard procedure for homicide cases. The sheriff's office reported next-of-kin have been notified and funeral arrangements are pending.
