COLE COUNTY, Mo. – A local man died Sunday in an automobile accident on Highway 54 in Cole County.
Larry D. Huston, 56, of Eldon, Mo., was driving a 2004 Ford westbound on Highway 54 at 2:33 a.m., Nov. 20, when a 1995 Dodge Ram allegedly travelling eastbound in the westbound lane hit Huston’s vehicle head-on, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Cole County coroner pronounced Huston dead at the scene. He was taken to Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City, Mo.
Marta Vaca, 29, of Kingdom City, Mo., has been identified by the Highway Patrol as the driver of the Dodge Ram. Vaca suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
A passenger in the Dodge Ram, Jerry R. Friend, 29, of Fulton, Mo., was seriously injured and taken to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo.
Eldon man injured in one-car accident
COLE COUNTY, Mo. – Jarred G. Maddox, 31, of Eldon, Mo., was driving a 2008 Chevrolet on Route B at 8:20 p.m., Monday, when the vehicle travelled off the right side of the road and struck a fence and tree, returned to the roadway, drove another .2 mile, went off the road again and struck a tree near Giggins Creek, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Maddox suffered moderate injury and was taken to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo.
